- What do you love about your bedroom?:
- I love the eastern and southern light. Have never had an apartment with great light, did not think I needed it, turns out I do! The eastern window next to the bed has a large fire escape that I have big plans for this spring/summer. For now it is host to many birds. It keeps my cat entertained in a relatively small apartment. I also appreciate the compact size, forcing only the essentials.
- What are your tips for creating a beautiful, healthy and organized bedroom?
- For me I need zero clutter, calm and charming but not overly done to ensure I actually fall asleep. I love the look of vintage cabin/cottage vacation rentals, you just know that whatever art is displayed there was not a whole lot of thought put into it. It was hung once and there it stayed, forever. Tried to capture a bit of that haphazard random simplicity.
- In modern homes, bedrooms have become more than just a place to sleep; they can be a retreat, a home office, a library, a relaxation zone. What are some ways you make the most of your bedroom?
- My bedroom is for sleeping and reading, lots of reading. The desk is a sewing table so it doubles as sewing project space. Computer is never in bedroom, it's a low tech quiet zone.

proves that something so simple can be so inviting and lovely
I love your dresser! Where is that from?
Is that a kitty water bowl on the floor in the last picture? If so, how considerate! This is such a lovely and peaceful room. I dig the old-timey vibe (gingham curtains!) and am jealous of those windows. I don't think I've ever had a bedroom with two exposures!
Beautiful, Lynn! It definitely captures the simplicity and charm of village homes.
I'm in Fairport, too. :)
I love this bedroom! Wood. White. The door. The blue blankent. Cosy. Clean. x
I think I would place the bed so that I could walk around it, even if that means losing the desk or other piece of furniture. This is because my bedroom is so tiny that I don't have that option. But, really lovely. Love the color or that bedspread.
So calm and peaceful. Simple and lovely. A place to think and not be bombarded by the world.
I wonder what type of shelf that is above the radiator. Wood? If so, does it warp?
Splendid and smart. This place has such a good vibe to it.
Hi everyone thanks!
the dresser is vintage and I have had it forever.
I would love to be able to walk around the bed but the doorway to the br is on the other side of the night stand, very tight fit.
I have marble tiles on the radiator. in a perfect world it would me a marble mantel or small dresser top but they tend to go for $$ so until I find one thrift the marble tiles from home depot work great.
I really love this.
This is good because it's clean, uncluttered and comfortable looking w/o being severe minimal or all girly swirly. Thankfully, it also doesn't look like granny's farm bedroom.
Great room. Love all the furniture and how the bed <-> rug <-> desk colors work together.
This does look very calming and charm and definitely reminds me of a cottage vacation rental. It seems as if it's very "intentional"; I would love to see the rest of your home.
So restful and inviting. I love a cozy yet minimalist bedroom.
This is absolutely perfect. Thoughtfully curated, subtle, and unique. I would love to see the rest of Lynn's place!
Very cozy and pleasant. I'm a fan of the dirty old string hanging from the overhead light fixture--reminds me of many places I have loved.
where does she keep her clothing?
So pretty! Where did you get your blue quilt/bedspread?
Hi thanks! the quilt is from urban outfitters...they don't have the same one anymore but I think there is one in the same color available and if you wait a bit they usually go on sale!
