About a month ago we reported about a new camera company with a possible game-changing technology...a technology with possibility of making focusing on a specific focal point not all too important. The Lytro was finally unveiled and it's certainly a unique device in both tech and design...

We have to admit we were a little surprised with the new design...but in a good way. The playful monocular style design, colorways, and moderate price of the Lytro makes it clear they're aiming for the youth market. The Lytro has been stripped of many features available on most other digital cameras: no auto-focus, no flash, no dials, or extra settings. It's truly meant as a point and shoot experience and the anodized aluminum camera does feature an 8x optical zoom at just 8 ounces, making this purse and pocket friendly. Two prices: $399 for a 8GB model capable of 350 photos or a 16GB model for $499, with 750 photos capacity.

What we yet do not know is how well this does in real world situations (we're hoping to follow up soon with a hands-on review), including how it handle low light conditions, and how durable the case proves to be.
