We could spend ages making our workspaces gorgeous and perfectly comfortable. But the reality is that the less time you spend distracted by Facebook and Twitter is more time you could have to... —chill out in front of the TV, maybe?

Productivity blog MakeUseOf.com has put together a list of 6 cool apps to help you manage your time at your desk.

The first few are applications designed to keep your screen focus on the task at hand. Think, Isolator and Spirited Away each do their own thing to hide the windows of the applications you're not using. It'll keep your eyes on the Excel spreadsheet and off Facebook Chat.

There's another time management method MakeUseOf is endorsing: the 25-minutes-of-work, 5-minutes-of-play Pomodoro technique. They've found two cool apps to help you manage the schedule: Focus Booster and Pomodoro.

The last—and we think most useful—is Self Control. Set a blacklist of Web sites that are no-click zones and Self Control will limit your access to them for a pre-set amount of time.
