Committing to wallpaper can be an intimidating decision. However, there are some great success stories derived from making bold moves in this department. The key is starting with something you love and building your space around that element. The metallics aren't for everyone, but they do make a statement. Why play it safe when there are endless numbers of awesome products available?
In some instances, rooms fully clad in wallpaper are absolutely stunning. That said, it's important to consider balance and contrast in any room incorporating some of the more vivid prints. Think of this paper as a mural on the wall and allow it to shine in otherwise simple environments. Use wallpaper to incorporate pattern, color and texture into your space, and have fun with it!
For those brave enough to attempt, wet your feet with these images. Are you ready to take the plunge?

These are so, so beautiful, but after taking down a house full of wall paper in my newly acquired old house I couldn't bear to put more up. I would paint a stencil pattern on with metallic paint. Planning on trying this in a spare bedroom.
Weird, at first glance I thought that metallic dot paper was a pierced metal screen! I feel dizzy! ;^)
I think metallic wallpaper is something that will rapidly seem dated. I love glitz, but not a fan of most metallic papers, they seem cheap to me, like candy wrappers. Although I know they aren't inexpensive.
(Maybe something like a Chinese silk screen with a muted metallic gold background would stand the test of time, but most other designs I'm dubious about.)
I do have one wall in my foyer painted metallic moss green, though. It's a Ralph Lauren color (from a few years ago, now.) Subtle sheen, very nice, and easy to change if it ever seems too "yesterday".
Oh my... I sense another round of my parents' metallic, flocked 1970's bathroom wallpaper! Oh, the humanity!!
I like it but wish it was contained to one wall only. It seems a bit much.
Funny enough, I just added some vintage metallic wallpaper to my Etsy shop. I'd also limit that one to one wall. :-)
I'm not a fan of wallpaper, but I do like these. Like keltrue said before me, I would only do one wall, or a small room like a half bath.
I remember when my grandma had metallic wallpaper. It was so dated and old looking! Now it's posh again! haha
How I love the idea of wallpaper. Like jess said, after you've removed wallpaper, you couldn't possible consider putting more up. I have a bathroom with terrible wallpaper (pink, grey, olive green patterned - nothing like the rest of our house), but it's installed BEHIND the toilet, floorboards, mirror, you get the picture, whoever installed it was thorough. We even hired a contractor to paint our place when we moved in, and he straight up said "Wallpaper removal? Heck no!" there wasn't a price he would do it for...
All that being said, it is ever so tempting to wallpaper over the wallpaper with that Hygge & West, Pattern Play print, really lovely stuff.
I looked at the last wallpaper post AT did and thought I must not be a wallpaper person, but I do like these! I still think one wall or a small section is better than the whole room though.
Does anyone know where I can get the wallpaper in the 5th picture (wallpaper behind the desk)? I absolutely love it.
If you want to see much better than this - look for Florence Broadhurst's patterns.
If you're not familiar with her, she was an Australian textile designer.
If you REALLY want to know more about her, her designs, her murder, see UNFOLDING FLORENCE, if it's around somewhere.
I love this wallpaper so much!!

Mark my words... you are going to HATE this five years from now....
Some of us were around in the 70's with the metallic wallpaper, and most don't want to see that near a wall again.
Thanks for the mention guys!!! You rock! XoXo :)
