Sharing a 1940's apartment, I am always fighting for storage for all my hair, make up, and bathroom products. My bathroom has only a pedestal sink, shower, and toilet with no room for storage except in the medicine cabinet. I was excited to discover the MagnaPod storage units to accommodate all my "necessary" make up products.
If you have a steel framed medicine cabinet the MagnaPod plastic storage containers magnetically attach to the inside of the door. For wood or plastic medicine cabinets a thin steel sheet can be purchased to adhere to the interior cabinet door. One of my favorite solutions is the toothbrush holder. I currently have my toothbrush on top of the sink near the toilet. However, I have heard too many studies about the germs that enter the surrounding area when the toilet is flushed. Also, it is polite to have personal items, such as a toothbrush, tucked away when entertaining guests.

Since you'll need to clear the shelf where the Magna-pod will close against it, I'm not sure how this creates any additional space.
Yes, SubwayKnitter, I wondered the same thing!
right on people.

I think the way they show it doesn't really work, but I wonder if it would attach to the outside of a medicine cabinet, on the mirror. That could be pretty cool. Also, I have a magnetic bulletin board these could be really cool on.
These could also work on the side of the fridge yes? For organization of kitchen tools maybe...
I agree with everybody else that these would not provide you with additional storage space. The only benefit I could see, would be that these containers would be secured to the inside of the door, instead of teetering precariously, on a shelf, just waiting for me to knock them over and the contents to spill out all over the place. For some reason, whenever I reach into the medicine cabinets, I inevitably knock something else over, causing an avalanche.
@lorint - I have something like that on my slidey-mirror medicine cabinet. I found a toothbrush/razor/sundries holder at Target with a suction cup on the back. It's awesome, and acts as a decent handle for my medicine cabinet, since the actual handle seems to have fallen off.
They don't use previously wasted horizontal space, but potentially if you were to store these on the shelves, you would have to pull them off the shelves to take the contents out vertically. This way, you're sort of allowing more vertical space to be used.
I use something similar to hold hair ties (or I did, back when I had long hair) and found that it did add space for me. Since it's so shallow it didn't interfere with my use of the shelves as I never had things going right up to the very edge of them anyway. Anything that WAS deep enough to need the space I just kept on the ends and had no problems.
It's polite to hide your toothbrush from guests? Am I the only one who didn't know this?
This is just a weird ad by magna-pod. Notice the glow from the inside of the medicine cabinet... anybody else have an internally lit medicine cabinet? I don't. Also, it's floating.. notice that it's not attached to a wall. LOL.
Anything that can help me to be more organized and more efficient use of space...I'm for it! Nice observation rr90027 about the light. That does seem rather strange.
