Name: Magnolia (11 months)
Location: Nashville, TN
Magnolia's room is a combination of new, old, handmade, and hand-me-downed. Magnolia's room is spacious and bright with a peaceful feel and, most of the time, you can find us hanging out in there!
The gray walls are soothing, so we chose not to change them. I found napkins at West Elm with gray, bright yellow, and a corally-red color that I loved, so I made the crib skirt out of them and used gray, yellow, and "red" as an overall color palette. Against EVERY bit of advice we received, we decided not to get a rocker or glider. We love her gray chair and have certainly used it well!
My husband designed and built the daybed, with large drawer storage underneath, as a place for us to lay with her for feeding, long nights, and reading stories. Now, she loves to stand and look out the window (with supervision, of course).
My friend painted the lovely illustrations and the name banner that was part of my baby shower. The best part of the room, though, is the black and white collage my husband made from a picture of Magnolia's great grandfather and great-great grandmother in 1923 on the very street we live on now! Our home wasn't built until 1925, but you can see our neighbor's homes in the background.
Thanks Mary!

White Enamel Four-P...
Wow! I love everything about this room from the awesome bed your husband built to the mirror behind the crib at a great angle to the old photograph blown up. Very great!
Love this room! You should try and recreate that photo if you can. :)
love the cribskirt! very creative.
Hi! Where did you get the metal buckets on the changing table? Those are fantastic for organization -- have been trying to think of what to use and these seem perfect and accessible!
Thanks everyone! Here's a (short) rundown of the items:
Crib and changing table: hand me down
shelving, mirror boxes, rug, chair, crib skirt, and bolster pillows on daybed: west elm
the tubs on changing table are beverage tubs from Target....which are there this year, too! just saw them the other day for 14.99. We are going to repurpose them for her birthday party in a couple of weeks) they are metal, but not sharp!
daybed bedding: target
This room is filled with memories, from the name banner to the old blown up photograph is just precious. It really gives the space a nostalgic feel to it.
Beautiful!
The doors beneath her name banner are gorgeous! We have similar ones in our basement (we think the previous owner collected doors as a hobby, there are TONS unhinged down there) but are without a proper-sized doorway to hang them in :( So, lucky you!
This is one of the nicest and most practical baby rooms I've seen on AT -- love it! Well done!
This room is cheerful and calming! So very nice!!! Love the illustrations above the bed!
Love the whole room, but especially love the three art pieces that look like windows in the photo of the daybed! Where did you get these?
COURTCPA, will you email me privately about the illustrations? maryatidwell@gmail.com...yes I love them too!
Love the room - thanks for sharing! What paint color did you use?
Really like this room, and the daybed is fabulous!
I love the name banner! Your friend should sell those on Etsy, I'd totally buy!
And I love the story behind the picture, so sweet that you live on the same street.
That is a fabulous room.
