User Reviews from Amazon.co.uk

Bernard Smith: We, like everyone else, own a big vacuum cleaner and also a small hand held one. Then we came across this fantastic 2-in-1 from Electrolux. It is basically a solid rechargeable hand-held unit that is nested in the side of a lightweight standup unit. So standing up, you can wiz around picking up dirt and crumbs with a very maneuverable carpet-cleaner-like head. Then you can detach the small hand-held unit to get at all those odd places. So-basically the stand-up bit is like a big accessory to the hand-held unit. The whole thing then just stands on a base to get re-charged. They claim 18 minutes autonomy, but we have never tested it because we use it for 5-10 minutes and then put it back on its recharging stand. The capacity is limited because it is fixed by the size of the hand-held unit, but it opens and cleans easy, and it has a good cloth filter inside that can be washed... more

12-3-ergo1.jpg

Manufacturer's Description

The 2 in 1 is a cyclonic and rechargeable cleaner with a detachable handheld unit. Ergorapido is equipped with a flexible super slim turbo brush nozzle for picking up stubborn fibres and the double joint allows for easy manoeuvrability around the furniture. The handheld unit can be detached easily and used for quick pick-ups. It has an integrated crevice nozzle which extends for reaching all awkward areas.

Emptying Ergorapido is so easy because it has quick empty front lid, which allows you to easily pour out the dirt without first having to remove the dust cup. The Ergorapido also has an evacuation lid, which enables you to empty the dust cup and clean the filter with a normal vacuum cleaner. Simply dock the hose end of the normal cleaner into the socket of Ergorapido and the dirt is instantly sucked out and the filter cleaned. This is a simple and hygienic solution without any mess.

Ergorapido has 2 power settings enabling you to clean both carpets and hard floors, and a full charge can clean up to 18 minutes. It can be stored either as a freestanding unit or mounted to the wall, whichever gives you the easiest access.

Oh we need this! Our cordless dustbuster stickvac of a similar design is quickly dying after only 6 months of use...it's the only vacuum we have, so I'm about to resort to borrowing a neighbor's vacuum until we can do the research for one that will survive a bit longer...

New York City small is like to no other small I know. And despite what one would think, small can be hard to clean, what with minor disorganization making a 400 sq.ft. place look entirely out of order. Seems only right that a New Yorker should be compensated with one of these. Why not me!

A cool looking, compact vacuum cleaner - perfect! And in gold! Get out of here! I can just see myself now with my 1 year-old daughter on my hip as I easily clean up her breakfast, lunch, and dinner messes that she constantly throws from her high chair. (Ok, so maybe the cleanup would have to wait until my baby was asleep...or, better yet, maybe she would want to get in on the action and learn to vacuum herself!)

this is NOT a CARPET vacuumn, see the gazillion reviews at Amazon.

Also, i spoke to Electrolux regarding the Pronto (which is actually made by another company) and there are 2 versions. The Electrolux EL1000A and Electrolux EL1000B and the later being the latest release. I think the B does some stuff the A doesn't.

Desperate Virgo here! Inside my messy apartment is a clean one begging to get out. And now, with an injured shoulder to boot, I've given up on trying to drag my sucky little canister vacuum (and I mean sucky in a BAD way!) around corners and free the cord from everything it catches on. I really need this! (Plus, I could actually find room in the closet to store it, rather than leaving the canister/hose/attachments in the middle of the foyer because it's just too much trouble to stash all the components!)

I would LOVE to try this out.

About a year ago, I took a piece of AT advice about and bought the shark hand-vac, which is awesome.

Unfortunately, as I was vacuuming the other day, I set it down on a chair next to the radiator. Next thing I know the cheap tube has melted in half from the heat of the radiator.

So now I could really use this!!

I find this post confusing too. This vacuum has been available in the US for years now. You can get it just about everywhere, for $99 or less. There are 145 reviews for it on Amazon in the US:

I have it and have to agree with sdmika, after a while the upright portion is useless and all you have is a functional handvac.

I have had the Pronto version for one year. It's red; it's beautiful; and it's disappointing as a vacuum cleaner. Here are the drawbacks:

1) It doesn't pick up dirt on carpets.
2) The brush gets clogged easily, so it doesn't do a great job on floors either.
3) Because it is small, it needs to be emptied quite often.

On the bright side, it looks attractive enough to leave out and the little charge light acts as a nightlight, so I guess you could say that we paid $90 for an interesting nightlight.
