Cozying Up A Loft Using Fabric Panels

Loft living has plenty of advantages with our favorite being large open spaces that create a blank palette for your decorating preferences. And while we imagine all that stretched out space is light and airy, we would also feel the need to incorporate a little bit of coziness.

Starting An Ornament Collection

120209ornament-01.jpgGrowing up, our family ornament collection consisted of mix and match baubles (mostly homemade by us kids). The effect was charming to say the least--the best part being all the stories behind each decoration. Even now, when we are invited into friends homes during the holiday season, we gravitate to the ornaments--finding each collection as interesting as the next.

The Zen Bedroom

With all the hustle and bustle already underway, our bedroom is going to be a haven when the going gets tough this holiday season. And while our current bedroom doesn't have all the traditional Zen decor qualities, there are certain things we can do to make our space feel calm and relaxed.

Small Change, Big Impact: Chair Revamp

We've shouted oohs and ahhs over using oilcloth for summer projects (tablecloths and party pennants). But we're really loving Dana's decision to recover her faux Saarinen tulip chairs with oilcloth fabric.

One More Unconventional Christmas Tree

We're big fans of Ingrid's work over at Wood & Wool Stool so it's no surprise that her rustic Christmas tree is at the top of our holiday inspiration list.

Making The Most of Your Space Going Vertical

112409vertical-01.jpgWhen Judith moved into her home, the only available bathroom was upstairs--which was super inconvenient. Instead of extending her homes space, Judith said goodbye to the downstairs coat closet and repurposed it as her powder room.

Moses and Jamie's Whimsical Modern
House Tour

112509housetour-01.jpgName: Jamie and Moses
Location: Silver Lake, California
Size: 900 square feet
Years lived in: 1 year

There are some houses that you walk into where you immediately feel at home. That was definitely the case when we stopped by Moses and Jamie's delightful home for this Apartment Therapy House Tour. Of course, it also didn't hurt that we were offered a mimosa before we even set our belongings down (not to worry, we didn't partake). It's hard to believe that these two have only lived here one short year--every vignette looks like it took precious time to evolve. We'll definitely be bookmarking this set of pics as inspiration for our next move (and we're guessing you might too).

Decluttering And Giving Back During The Holiday Season

112509drive-01.jpgOur email inbox has been inundated with food and clothing drives this week, looking for support for the homeless. Even though folks are already overextended during the holiday season, we think this is the best time of year for decluttering.

Courtney's Inspirational and Updated Bungalow

Having lived in South Pasadena a few years back, we grew to love and really appreciate the 1920s style bungalow. Charming and identifiable at a glance, these homes are chock-full of design characteristics so you don't have to start at square one. Courtney's bungalow is no different, with beautiful windows and doors as decorating inspiration.

Our Favorite Coasters From Etsy

This season's finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm had a story line where Larry David is accused of making ring stains on an antique wood table. After interrogating his friends (by asking if they "respect wood"), he uncovers the culprit (Cheryl, his ex-wife). Larry's investigation got us thinking--perhaps the right set of coasters can better encourage people to use them. Check out these gems from Etsy--after the jump!

Easy DIY: Turn Tablecloths Into Curtains

Just because you recently replaced your current tablecloth with a new one for Thanksgiving doesn't mean the old one has to be put away. Grab some wire clips and repurpose as curtains in your home with these examples to help guide the way.

A Pop of Color Using Books In The Bedroom

112309-bedside-01.jpgWe love the idea of decorating with books because you're utilizing belongings you already have on hand. For instance, this small stack of hardback books in the bedroom instantly adds extra charm and color to the space.

Before & After: Organized Laundry Room

Sometimes, the right containers can make all the difference in the world. This is definitely the case in Leslie's closet-style laundry room. The before pic is a scene of mismatched products overflowing from baskets that aren't quite right. With a little help from Benita at Chez Larsson, Leslie transforms her space just by moving around a few things.

Creating Privacy On The Patio

Just because winter is approaching doesn't mean we're heading inside--at least not in Southern California. We're looking forward to taking our favorite cozy blanket and cup of coffee out on the stoop to take in the fresh morning air. We are afforded a little privacy by our stucco stair railing but some folks have to create their own hidden oasis.

Best Poufs on Parade: Comfortable Extra Seating

When we need extra seating, our go-to move consists of footstools and chairs from the kitchen. But we're really starting to admire the poof--and its design quality. Squishy and comfy, they can be easily moved around at a moments notice. Ten ways to use them after the jump!
