We don't know about you, but we would love to find something like this to put in our kitchen! These glass drawers were in an old apartment in Stockholm, and we're already imagining how handy it must be to clear off some counter space without sacrificing organization or easy access. Does anyone know where to find a similar solution?

At the risk of sounding incredibly dumb, I discovered last night that my kitchen has one of those sink front trays (they're located directly below the sink, and they flip out so you can store sponges). Yes, it took me a year to find it. A year! And during the past 365 days, I've been slinging the sponge in a suction-cup wire holder attached to the side of the sink to minimize clutter in that area. How do you store your sponges in the kitchen and bathrooms?
When we first spotted this photo of this Pasadena 1910 Craftsman bungalow in Architectural Digest, we thought it looked a wee bit old fashioned. But after taking a closer look, we're starting to like the yellow-tinted green trim paired with crisp white walls. Furnishings aside, this color combo seems to fit the vibe of this vintage home. Side note: we covet that stained glass in the windows.
We got a tip from AT reader KM who has a mint condition
Looking at this photo, we'd never guess it was actually a kitchen corner (although the hanging teacups might be an obvious hint). But what we love about this corner by Moline is that it's pulling triple duty: storing a teacup collection, displaying kids' art, and storing art supplies in the drawers that are low enough for the kids to reach. And it manages to look neat and serene...
We might have to get these for Gregory the next time he writes about
A Chesterfield for the future? Students Isaac Pineir, Pablo Pita, and Martin Franzen debuted this concept at Milan Design Week 2008: Exansaldo. It's an interesting juxtaposition of angles and lines with the tufted curves of a Chesterfield sofa. What do you think?

Our garbage system goes something like this: if its trash, we chuck it in the big trash can; if it's recyclable, we put it on the counter in our laundry room (it's close to the back door). This usually leads to an unsightly pile by of newspapers, miscellaneous boxes, bottles, and more--not to mention the process of taking it all out and sorting it into the right bins outside.
AT reader Lindsay needs our help finding some curtain rods to help accent her sunroom: We just bought our first house, and one room is posing a little bit of a design dilemma. Our "sunroom" is all windows. We put on white wood Venetian blinds on all windows, but between them is still almost 10" of space...
Bleach stains...sounds contradictory, doesn't it? Well, a few days ago, in an effort to unclog our drain, we followed the advice of one of our friends and poured bleach down the drain. And man, we learned our lesson: Don't. Do. That. EVER! Even after we rinsed the tub, the next morning we found nasty bleach stains around the tub. After two hours of scrubbing to no avail, we went online to hunt for some kind of remedy...
If ever you feel the need to be a fairy princess, you could a) go to Disneyland; or b) get this
We spotted this idea in a recent tour of LA-based designer Hillary Hayne's kitchen: refacing kitchen cabinets with mirrors. Inspired by an antique mirror that she had, Hayne replicated the look thanks to mirror maker Ginette Lemonnier who created these sepia-toned mirrors by adding acid to the back create that tarnished effect.
The Expedit bookcase is probably one of the most successful Ikea offerings to date, and it could be because it's so versatile and simple. Here, Yvestown modifies hers: the vintage wallpaper is a nice backdrop for the magazine holders and kitschy vases, but it's the cat bed that in the lower right that makes this Expedit unique.
This couch needs a little bit of love--OK, maybe a lot of love. But still, we love the funny arms and shape of this
We just looked through a pretty cool house tour over at Sköna Hem, and among the photos we saw, we were intrigued by this playful and unexpected pairing of lucite with heavy Grecian columns. What do you think? Do you think it works?
Here's one way to give a small home the illusion of a little bit more space: paint the bulky furniture (like these armoires) the same color as the walls. Not only does it gives the walls a bit more dimension, it also gives noteworthy surroundings and accessories a lot more emphasis.

One of our pals just put in a new bamboo floor, and it's been less than 24 hours and he's already found scratches in it. Usually, our advice is, "Don't worry about it! It'll give your home character!" But seeing as though our advice did very little to console him, we've found some interesting DIY tips on how to repair a bamboo floor. Tips after the jump!
I used wait until late Sunday afternoon before I broke out the vacuum, and then attempt to clean the whole house in one go. But lately, I've been assigning different chores to specific days so I don't have to dread Sundays (keeping a chore chart stuck to the refrigerator as a reminder definitely helps!) What's your cleaning habit? Do you designate one day to do all the housekeeping, or do you break it up to different days?
Meh. It's been a bit overcast and cold-ish in LA these past few days. Very grey and blah, which inspired us to feature this lovely
