In the past we've taken a brief look at making your own dishwasher detergent, but the recipe didn't exactly get rave reviews. Our friends over at Natural Home have a far better one and we're willing to bet you have all the supplies on hand to make it right this minute!

The fine folks over at Natural Home have given us a heads up to two different dishwashing detergents you can make at home for pennies on the dollar to their retail counterparts. We've talked about making a liquid version in the past, but the powdered kind is even easier!

Natural Home tells us that all you'll need is equal parts Borax and Baking Soda. If you'd like to add an essential oil for fragrance you're welcome to do so. It's so easy it hurts and doesn't require anything fancy on the ingredient list. You can find both items at your local big box retailer!
