Do you remember Kate from Mini Eco? We found out a little more about her family recently in our Big Blog Family feature and she's been busy since we last checked in on her. Do your kids bring you treasures from the outdoors? Instead of tossing those pockets of acrons and sticks, turn them into something musical instead!

We love instruments of all sorts, but those that are handmade carry with them something special that a plastic recorder from the store just can't compete with.

Kate set to work to make something out of nothing and with a little string, a handful of bells and some gold leaf she came up with a family heirloom instrument that looks as great as it sounds. It's a great way to add to the symphony in your play room and bring the outdoors in!
