Canopy beds are pretty but are often less than affordable. This simple IKEA hack puts to use some simple curtain hardware that, when mounted to the ceiling, has a beautiful canopy effect. Want to see how it's done?
This system found over at IKEA Hackers was created by using DIGNITET curtain hardware from IKEA. Instead of mounting them to the wall, they were instead affixed to the ceiling.
The look creates privacy and gives the illusion of a canopy bed without the insanely high overhead or high delivery fees. Even if you're not a fan of the look in the bedroom, it could still be used elsewhere in the home where a little privacy or secluded space might be nice. Check out more on this project over at IKEA Hackers.

I'm really feeling the headboard. Where's it from?
That halogen lamp looks perilously close to that curtain. Safety first, people!
This really reads "hospital" to me....hang a saline bag from the halogen lamp and the look is complete.
I think it's a cute idea -- if the curtains weren't white, I can imagine it working really well in a shared kids' room!
Perfect! Thanks for the laugh, rosekraft!
pull the tag!
@hazelnut_spread The headboard is also from Ikea
I agree with rabbitrabbit -- the colors and patterns are a bit institutional for me, but the concept seems to have a lot of possibility.
