Mobiles in the nursery are so traditional, don't you think? How about something more unusual, like a chandelier? We love this easy and economical tutorial to make your own piece of hanging art with some scrap fabric and a lamp shade.
Vanessa of Our Thrifty Ideas came up with this project when she had leftover fabric from a blanket she made. Using strips of the material, she tied them to an old lamp shade frame, and the whole certainly adds up to more than its parts. It's a cute take on hanging decor in a child's room that you can tailor to any style and make with little investment.

I love this idea! Lately, I've been thinking about a buying a mobile of some sort, but I love this diy idea even better! It seems so simple to do, but will make a big (and fun) impact in any room. I'm going to try my own diy version - can't wait to see how it turns out!
Thanks for the inspiration!
