Lampshades are like throw pillows when you're in need of a quick and inexpensive fix to change up a room. Here is a simple Anthropologie inspired DIY shade that will cozy up any space.
Terra from Mama Says Sew did a guest post at Tatertots & Jello recreating a ruffled Anthrolpologie lampshade that she fell in love with. With a lampshade, some burlap and a glue gun Terra was on her way to a new shade that cost a heck of a lot less than the original and turned out just as sweet.

Nomade Express Slee...
Now this is a DIY that most everyone can appreciate even if it's not their style. I'd like to see them trim more of those frayed ends, but I think it looks much better than the Anthropologie one.
thats pretty cool but is it flammable?
All I can think about is the dust that would collect in those ruffles.
I like it! And yes, our enemy dust! Just remember that it collects on EVERYTHING, so who cares! make a cool lamp shade and remember to dust it while you're dusting the table and books, etc.
I was wondering how much light it gives?
I'm with MebJohnson. My allergies go off just looking at those ruffles.
It looks great, but it would definitely be a dust magnet for me, as well.
The headline "Make a DIY Ruffled Lamp Shade" is redundant.
If you're making it, then it's -- ipso facto -- DIY.
I made one similar to this from a previous AT post and it's lovely. Note that it dims the light output significantly though.
