Make A Dragonfly Lamp From Simple IKEA Supplies

IKEA Hackers

One thing we love about the beloved yellow and blue big box retailer is that if IKEA doesn't carry what you need, they have the supplies to do it yourself. Do they sell a dragonfly pendant lamp? Not yet! But they do have exactly what you need to make one from their bits and pieces. Here's how:

To make this flying creature at home you only need a few simple supplies. First off you'll start with a cord kit and while you're out and about, bring home a tea diffuser and a bit of panty hose (though you might have to stop somewhere other than IKEA for that one).

Wings are formed and twisted onto the lamp kit along with eyes made from the tea diffuser. The look is as darling as they come and could be a unique project or gift for a friend. Try hanging ribbons from it for some color or you could dye the wings before adding them to the structure.
