You've probably repurchased any songs you used to jam out to on those old-school cassette tapes and are now storing your classic tunes as MP3 files on your computer. Maybe you've even done Mother Earth a favor and e-cycled your cassette player instead of throwing it out. But what about the cassettes themselves? Why don't you try this project to make a Jacobs Ladder toy? Video after the jump...

Video from MetaCafe user loup226.

"These simple folk toys date back to the Pilgrim days, but are still a lot of fun for kids to make and play with."

Just kids? Can you walk by one of these things without picking it up and trying it? We think it's an interesting and unique project for a lazy winter day stuck inside. We're sure you really creative types can even make it pretty enough and interesting enough to be a part of a tech-inspired tablescape.
