We've been collecting great ideas to share with you this week about all things photography, and Ohdeedoh reader, Julie Dance, sent us an awesome one. She created this adorable project for her husband, and we love how infinitely customizable it is. You could spell names or greetings or a date and create wonderful keepsakes and gifts.

She photographed her son holding wooden letters to spell out the word "Daddy" and then mounted the collection in a collage frame. We have to admit, we cracked up at how many shots it took to get 5 usable images. A baby and a dog? She's a brave woman! Anyone who has photographed children has been there, though, and we think the result is perfect.

White Enamel Flatwa...
Perfect Father's Day gift idea!!
I did this for Father's Day last year, except I did "I <3 Daddy" and made my own "frame" that looked like an analog roll of film. Everyone loved it!
We did something similar to this for my MIL and FIL one year for Mother's and Father's days. But with a twist! My brother got up on the roof and took pictures of my SIL, DH, DD, and myself making letters out of our bodies. We spelled out "Super Deluxe Dad!" For my FIL (he says super deluxe a lot). So we made all the letters once, printed out 3 D's, 2 U's, 3 E's...you get the point. WE even had my daughter be the middle part of the A and the dot at the bottom of the "!" . I cut out each of the letters and made a sort of collage in a big frame with small pics that represented hobbies all around (guitar, tent, canoe). They LOVED them! For the mothers day one, I cut out a TON of flowers from magazines to decorate the surround.
You can also use alphabet cards for your child's room to do the same kind of thing... not as personal but a way to use a deck of cards, especially if you've lost a few along the way. http://roomforyoungones.com/2010/06/15/julie-morstad-alphabet-cards-and-personalized-name-art/
Thank You soo much for featuring my project! My son was 14 months old and very squirrely. I also had our dog on a tie down which I had to edit out from the photos....
I smile every time I walk by this framed collage. It is in our hallway near our master bedroom.
This is such an awesome idea! I'm a little late to the party here but all the comments from people are very helpful too! Lots of creative ways to make this work. I've blogged this post and bookmarked it! Thanks again.
