I must admit that when I make playdough for my son I put a hunk of it in front of him and say, "here ya go!" It hadn't occurred to me that I might make something more complicated for him with it or even use it as a teaching tool. Jill made this lovely planet Earth - if you think the outside is cool, check out the inside.

Touching things and making things is an important way to remember things so remember this project when your kids start to learn the solar system in school. You could collaborate on all the planets and keep them proportional in size and true to color.
