Growing up my mother always had a set of wind chimes on the front porch. Being in the Midwest and in Tornado alley, they were almost always making noise. In my new neighborhood I've noticed that all the homes are void of any sort of wind chime, metal or otherwise, so maybe it's time I made one of my own!

This set of pretty little wind chimes is made from an old xylophone children's toy. Often you'll find them at thrift stores or garage sales and the board to which their attached has seen better days. This is a great way to put them to use and bring a little pop of color into the house while you're at it.

Keep your eyes peeled next time you're out thrifting. Check out more details on the project over at Craftster.
