Rugs are such a great way to bring a burst of color and playfulness into a room. While there are many great ones out there to choose from, the price, size or style may not be the perfect fit for your space or budget. Why not make your own? Rugs may not be the first thing you consider when you think diy, but this project may have you thinking again.
Jessica of Running with Scissors shared this great project with Jen of Tatertots and Jello, who thankfully shared it with the rest of us. Now we are not implying that a complete novice can pick up a needle and thread and whip this up. Nor do we think the woodland theme is perfect for every child's room. But the tutorial is thorough enough that it can give you the basics of rug making using these particular techniques. How you apply this knowledge is up to you. But if you love the woodland rug (like we do) then you will be happy to know that there are templates provided for all of the creatures.
Hooray for templates! And cheers to Jessica for sharing her creativity with the rest of us.
