We've been known to whip up last minute smoothies for quick "on the go" breakfasts, well, pretty often actually. Mornings sometimes get the better of us as we try to get everyone out the door, properly clothed and well nourished.
Perhaps freezing pre-portioned smoothie ingredients is going to make those crazy mornings, just a wee bit less crazy? That's what Alisa did and she shares her methods on The Tidy Nest.

White Enamel Four-P...
My smoothies consist of fruit, yogurt and milk. I don't really feel the need to make a three ingredient smoothie faster. But maybe if I were using a big blender it would help to have it portioned; I'm a magic bullet girl.
what a waste of plastic bags for something that is so simple to make! i cut up my fruit and veggies the night before and put them in the fridge in the blender cup so that all i have to do in the morning is blend it.
Well, you could just have a week's worth and reuse the baggies. Or maybe use those freezer jam jars? Either way, I think this is a great idea. My blender won't fit in my fridge, and I am often trying to do things with one hand in the mornings.
Also, I am lazy.
I'm going to try using the jam jars to split up the spinach for my smoothies (supposed to make it stay fresh longer?), but I use frozen fruit (bananas, strawberries, blueberries) so it's easy just to grab some.
I like this idea! I'm not sure if I'll do it, but the concept is useful. If I could find freezer containers that I could stick my wand blender into and then serve directly out of, I'd really be set.
Ohhhhhhh! I was thinking that this might be a waste of time for me since I buy my fruit pre-frozen, but I could see how this might work for some people. Then I clicked to the source post and saw that she actually freezes pre-portioned out yogurt in an ice cube tray and includes yogurt cubes in the baggies (it's not just fruit in the baggies). Brillz! Might do that one.
