Do you do family movie night? We started one in our household a year or two ago. It's a great opportunity to pop some popcorn, snuggle on the couch, and share some classics with your kids. (Our personal favorite has been The Cat From Outer Space, circa 1978.) Make it even more special with these ingenious "cars" so your movie can be a drive in.
Stacey from Not Just a Housewife came up with this idea when she acquired a projector to show movies, but it works just as well if you are simply watching them on your TV. We often have dinner in front of the movie (it's a special treat!), so the cars would provide the perfect contained area to prevent spills on the carpet or floor. You could make them as a surprise or get the kids involved in building them. Either way, it'll make the movie that much more interesting. Cars, anyone?

Nomade Express Slee...
The little cars are wicked cute.
Absolutely adorable! I wish my kids were little again!
So cute - going to make this for my 4 year old grandson. He loves to play in boxes!
I love pics of kids sitting in boxes - boxes, not just for lol cats!
that is ridiculously adorable
as a kid our neighbor ran a grocery store and brought big boxes for us to play in all the time.
And now I have a theme for my daughter's next birthday party! Thanks! This is adorable!
What a great idea, I can't wait till my grandson is old enough to try this!
Cat From Outer Space = One of the best movies ever.
Also, sweet rides. ;)
I can't see myself doing this for a random night, but it would be perfect for a birthday party!
Just goes to show that a cardboard box is the best toy ever. I still remember with great fondness the refrigerator box my dad made into a play house for me. We didn't have a lot of money, but it hardly mattered because my parents were so creative.
Can you put a lid on the box and ship them off too when you need a movie night at home with no kids?
Sure thing, thorndale. Just make sure the 'ship to' address is Grammy's house
*said the Grammy*
I don't have kids, but I know a pre-school teracher who is gonna LOVE this!
Love this!!
Oh my gosh, so cute. When my sister & I were little (eons ago) we'd watch "The Wild, Wild West" on Friday nights (I THINK it was Fridays) in the living room and we'd park our Barbie cars in front of the TV to pretend they were at the drive-in.
I love the creativity of moms!
Yup, it was Fridays.
Ha! Thanks, discerning!
