Over on our Apartment Therapy Flickr group we noticed a lovely string of pastel garland in a child's room. It's delicate and whimsical and we thought it would be great to take this same idea and use holiday colors to decorate your space in a pinch. Close-up pictures after the jump...
AT reader Petunia was inspired by all the garland strands she saw on Flickr and decided to make her own using cupcake liners. For your own home, especially during the holiday party season, we think using greens and reds or even blues, a bit of silver and some white would be really beautiful. You can also get creative using different colored strings to strand the cupcake liners. Have you ever made garland using cupcake liners--what did you do differently?

Wow I love this idea! So simple!
Never used cupcake papers, which is a cute idea. DID use crepe paper cut into circles, then pulled along the edge to make them ruffled. Thread onto string with short bits of drinking straws as spacers---to make a garland or lei.
Um, No.
I'd rather have the cupcakes.
Anybody know where that bedframe is from? It is too cute.
I don't know about that, it looks too improv for a permanent decoration solution. Could use it for holiday decoration or something.
I love it as a holiday decoration. Its a unique take on a garland.
Pleated crepe paper is a whole lot cheaper.
Doesn't quite deliver. Sorry.
Slightly better than the horrible wreath-of-rags, though ;-)
