Is this dreary gray winter getting you down? If so, wipe off your boots and brighten up your home with this easy DIY wooden doormat from Martha Stewart.
The image on the left is the original concept from Martha Stewart, but we're loving the colorful photoshopped version we found at Say Yes to Hoboken. All you need are a few tools, sixteen 2x2 boards, and rope. If you like the original version leave the mahogany or cedar boards plain (or stained/sealed). But, if you want something a little more vibrant and unique, just add some coats of paint in the colors of your choice.

cute... this is a diy i can actually do
Ooooo! This is lovely. Too bad my dogs would pee all over it before too long!
Weirdly, the Hoboken website titles their fake version "colorful DIY Doormat at Martha Stewart" with a hyperlink to her non-colorful original version. And if photoshopping some color is all it takes to produce a new version of something, we ought to be seeing some spectacular before-and-afters on AT. ("I liked the 'before' better!" "OK, I'll revert to the original JPEG.")
It is going to be my next little DIY project!! <3
Oh I like! And it would be pretty easy to make it a Union Jack too (always popular), or a rainbow flag, or really any flag someone loved.
