No matter what design theme a nursery or child's room may have there always seems to be room for a few animals. Extra storage is a most welcome element as well. So we think these charming animal hooks should be a perfect addition to almost any youngster's room.
When you think about it, the long tails of animals are just waiting to be translated into a functional design element. These diy animal hooks, featured on a recent Martha Stewart show, do exactly that. By using the free downloadable templates for the artwork and then applying a painted single hook in the right spot, the tails of the animals become the perfect place to hang clothing or other items.
The tutorial is pretty straightforward (and includes a video), although it employs a few moderately advanced painting techniques to give the animals a more realistic look. The carpentry skills required should be within anyone's ability, and the whole project can be done in an afternoon.
