OK, I may be just a little obsessed with plumbing pipe right now. Between my DIY table and living room shelves, there may soon be more plumbing pipe used for decorating and organizing my apartment than in the walls!
I don't know about you, but I have a lot of shoes and limited closet space. I'm not willing to curb my shoe habit but I am willing to build this shoe rack that I found on Instructables.

I think this would be a cute way to display more stylish or expensive shoes in a room. I would consider spray painting the pipes, connectors and flanges black to give the project a sleeker appearance. If displaying shoes in a room isn't your thing, you could also build this shoe rack inside a closet. Or, as shown above, build a similar rack and display books rather than shoes (books about shoes?).
Step-by-step instructions are provided over on Instructables.

Looks great, but wouldn't the shoes and books slide off?
As you stated, not for everyone. I would perfer it to be inside my closet but I understand limited closet space. HOWEVER,it is a SUPER COOL idea. And I'm envious that you can rock those high, high heels! :oD.
It looks so wonderful, great design!
