Make Your Own Animal Print Rug for Less

Vintage Revivals

Over the past month we've seen things painted, built, reupholstered, organized and more. In short, there isn't much we haven't seen, so when we tell you this tutorial for creating your own animal print rug will leave you gawking with your mouth open — trust us. Ladies and gentlemen, this is how you piece together two rugs to make exactly what you want at a price you can afford!

For those of you who like to DIY and are always looking to repurpose items or spend as little as possible, then Mandi over at Vintage Revivals is your lady. Her projects always come out with amazing results and this DIY animal print rug is no different.

Two rugs were purchased and cut apart before being taped back together. The idea makes a mess and has an amazing look to it! Her idea is simple, although a little labor intensive (but for the serious diy-er we just call that love) and would be a great way to make a custom rug on a small budget. You could even piece together two stained rugs (eliminating the stains) to make something new from pieces you already own!

If animal print isn't your style, look around at other modern rugs and see what suits your fancy. Maybe it's flowers, geometric shapes or a photo realistic portrait of your dog, but the point is you can get exactly what you want with a little elbow grease and a carpet knife! Check out the full tutorial over at Vintage Revivals, we promise you won't look at carpet the same way again!
