Every once in a while it's nice to pamper yourself and your hair with a great treatment. Rather than shelling out for a store bought option, which is likely full of chemically things and housed in yet another plastic container, why not try this incredibly easy recipe? It's a fantastic way to put that over-ripe banana or avocado to good use!
What You Need...
Banana or Avocado
1-2 tbsp of olive, coconut or grape seed oil (optional)
Fork
Small bowl
Hair clip
Tea towel or shower cap
What To Do...
1. Place peeled banana/avocado and oil in the bowl, mash until smooth.
2. Apply the mixture to dry hair, starting from the tips. Massage into roots.
3. Pin up hair and wrap in the tea towel/shower cap.
4. Leave for 15 minutes. This is a great time for a quick cleaning blitz—the heat from your scalp helps the hair soak up the treatment!
5. Wash out the mixture with shampoo and rinse in cool water.
A big thanks to my good friend and renegade hairstylist, Nickie Des Roches for this ingenious tip!

I'm sorry. Gross
It is a natural hair pack. I will surely try this out. I am always looking for natural ways to pamper my hair.
So what exactly does this do for your hair?
I haven't tried it, but it sounds like this is intended to condition your hair.
@franklindean: I'm not understanding why this is gross. It seems less gross than applying a product with a lot of chemicals, the names of which I don't recognize and don't know what they do.
add a little orange juice and honey to the banana mash and it is a great face mask - I never thought of using it on my hair! Thanks.
Yum...I mean great idea, olive oil works well too!
While I'm excited to try it since I have dry hair and overripe bananas in my freezer, I can't help but wonder how to rinse it out without getting banana chunks in my shower. I guess I could rinse my hair in the kitchen sink and use the strainer to catch the banana....
I am so trying this next time I have a spare banana!
And on the side of face masks, the best one I have tried is tea tree oil and honey. Its amazing if you suffer from blackheads or large pores.
KimGriff- how much of each?
