Sometimes when your space is small a little bit of look can go a long way to making your home feel more personalized or thought out. These Eames-inspired glassware is just the right amount of fun without feeling over the top.
Sometimes diy projects can feel a little overwhelming and seem a little out of reach if you aren't into power tools or have a stocked craft closet. This simple glass etching look needs only a hole punch and a craft knife in combination with a little contact paper to keep your lines clean.
If you've never etched glass before, the folks over at Curbly have done a great job of creating a simple project that has some serious super star results. You can take this on with glassware you already own, or pick up clearance or thrift store finds to test it out on!

I love etching cream! It's so much fun. Making etched wine glasses is neat too.
hydrofluoric acid burns are horrible. The weaker the solution, the deeper the acid penetrates before you notice it. Just FYI. You don't want to get to know your local burn center as a patient. And these would qualify for transfer to a burn center.
Sheesh, a follow up post by Buzz Killington, then a smarmy pluke peddling his wares? Hey, these glasses deserve better--and etching cream is always fun. You celebrate yo' self. Get some Tom Collins mix and have a good time with your highballs.
What a treat to see my little project on AT! I'm glad you all like it!
Cute! That stuff is also good for getting scratched up UV coating off of spectacles.
But the cream is banned in Philly :-p Have to drive to Joisey to get it
Love the design! I did quite a few glasses with "atomic starbursts" before I moved last year. Those return address labels that I always get from charities & my insurance company were soon to bee null & void. Instead of trashing them, they went to good use as etching stencils.
@nutterbuddy...its banned in Philly? Seriously?? I wonder if I can get it in the burbs?? Hate to have to drive to Jersey. This is really a neat idea and I like the mod retro design used on the glasses in the photo above.
@suzy8track- yup! Apparently something to do with grafitti, blah blah :-p I did end up finding some out in Langhorne, so yup, the burbs are the way to go!
