If you happen to be hosting Thanksgiving this year your to-do list of preparations is undoubtedly a long one. It's great to get the kids involved whenever possible to lessen that burden but sometimes a bustling kitchen is the last place they should be. Here is a project they can do that will be useful, keep them occupied and add an extra bit of homemade goodness to your table.
Amy at Let's Explore has converted a basic origami swan into a colorful Tom Turkey by adding some feathers and a bit of detail with markers. The result is a fun little bird that would look great on the Thanksgiving table.
Amy thinks they would be perfect place card holders and we heartily agree. The craft is straightforward enough that the older kids can be in charge of the folding while the younger ones glue on feathers. A pre-printed name card nestled on the turkey's back will bring it all together.
