After falling for Kristen Farr's sweet hand-painted canvas houses & shops, I started keeping an eye out for ways I could make my own quaint little village....
- The Playtown Project from Oliver + S Little Things To Sew by Liesl Gibson is enchanting. If only I knew how to sew, I would love to make little stuffed versions of all the darling shops I've worked in over the years.
- Now, paper-folding I can do! The Make-A-Town Kits 1 & 2 from Present & Correct are the perfect aesthetic and skill level for me, especially the red & blue town with its public fountain!
- The free-downloadable Paper Gingerbread House Kit from Twelve22 is more of a wintery project, of course, but it's never to early to start planning your holiday crafts. Plus it gives you plenty of time to go all out and make the whole Wintertime Village!
- Finally, The Huggable House is from More Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by Purl Soho. We non-knitters can't imagine that something so well-done could possibly have been accomplished last-minute, and salute you knitters and your fleet fingers.
