There are many ways to go about making your own books and journals, but one of the simplest we've seen is one made like the image above. All it takes is paper, a piece of cardstock and two rubber bands. What could be easier?

The Croatian blog Skrabalica has posted a super simple tutorial on making your own sketchbook or journal. You simply take papers (cut to whatever size you want), a piece of cardstock (slightly larger than your paper) and fold them in half length wise. Wrap a rubber band around the outside of the pages and across the freshly created crease.

Next, tie a second rubber band to the first and use it to keep all the pages closed and together. Check out the graphic above as it explains things pretty well. This is a great way to put blank pages or scrap paper to use. Try making them for your kids for school, church, use in the car or for yourself to stash away in your purse or messenger bag for your own notes!

Check out the full tutorial at Skrabalica (though we suggest using Google Translator).
