We've had many wash cloth bunnies over the years, some held ice cubes and others held snacks, but these are a great surprise for little ones to wake up to on Easter morning. Plus, if you just use thread for facial features, they can be used in the bathroom after the holiday has passed.
We love any holiday that gives us an excuse to give our kids something practical like washcloths. It's not often they go running down the hall excited about something to clean themselves with!
If the facial features are done in thread, you can simply untie these bunnies and let your kids use them time and time again. They can be something that gets rolled back up and used for special occasions (maybe when bath time doesn't sound so fun?), or leave them tied up and they can hold ice cubes to nurse boo-boos back to health.
You can find the full tutorial for making these simple nostalgic creatures over at Petite Planet.

So cute! I'm definitely including these in our baskets this year.
We call these "Boo boo bunnies." Rather than holding an ice cube (which would also work), I wet the washcloth and keep them in the freezer. When we have a boo boo, we grab a "boo boo bunny" to make it all better!
Ditto the "Boo boo bunnies!" My mom made these when I was growing up. So cute!
Holy goodness! I think the last time I saw this done was when I was still rocking curled 2" bangs off my forehead and a barrette made out of rainbow shoe laces. Good times!
How cute! And l love the Petite Planet blog. Thanks for all these great resources!
Thanks so much for featuring a Petite Planet craft and for all of the great feedback! And thanks for your kind words, KarenCL!
Yeah Boo boo bunnies! I also fold my napkins for Easter dinner this way. Everybody loves them!
