During a recent House Tour (we'll be showing you the full tour tomorrow!) we spotted this simple method of making a vintage photograph — or any wall hanging for that matter — really stand out from the wall. You might be surprised by the method...
It's just a cut out circle of tissue paper. In this case we think the use of tissue paper makes this work because you get to see a hint of the wall color blending through the tissue paper. It certainly helps that the photo is fabulous. This particular example of a circle, also groups the two photos into one more-cohesive display. A larger circle could be used to visually unite multiple frames/objects/artwork on a wall.
You'll see lots of these simple but fun touches in tomorrow's tour!

Hate it - Unless Cheesy and Tacky is the look you're going for here...
I'm sorry, but this looks like garbage.
Yep, trashy. Fabric starched to the wall, on the other hand...
I think it's neat - it looked like paint at first, but the tissue paper is so much easier, and more changeable...
Not a fan.
I really like the idea, maybe I might execute it a little different though.
I thought it was a really bad paint job.
Not a good example.
Don't like this at all.
Total shite.
Who makes up this stuff?
Ugh.
And those picture frames need to be replaced, entirely.
