In the past we've talked about some really great gift-wrapping ideas that won't end up heading straight to the trash, but we ran across a new one this week that makes the wrapping a whole new gift in itself — perfect for hostess gifts!

We've spoken fondly of using Bento boxes (seriously, we can't get enough) and even these cool SIGG lunch boxes, but regardless of the style, they're also a great way to gift small-ish items that will fit neatly inside.

Some boxes have multiple layers and others are just one with a few compartments. Either way, the gift is doubled up as they'll be able to use both the gift and the wrapping in the future. Just tie it up with a scrap of fabric or ribbon and you're all set. If you're worried about the recipient seeing inside, try adding shredded newspaper or filler to the top. Check out more details on this idea over at Babble.

What reusable items have you used for packaging in the past? Let us know below!
