Q: I am moving out of my apartment to my first house in about a month (yay!) and will finally be getting rid of some of the mismatched furniture that was handed down to me by friends and family. Though it has served me well, it's time to get some matching furniture! One piece that I hate the look of, but love the function of, is my giant pine This End Up coffee table. The thing is a monster (4' x 3') and so dated looking it takes the whole room down with it.
That said, it's fabulous for hosting game night with friends, putting my feet up while watching TV and is really solidly built. I'd like to give it a bit of a makeover by changing out the base -- possibly to some metal legs?? -- and giving it a fresh stain and polyurethane. Any suggestions on how to take this beast out of the 70s and into my new house? Sent by Editor: • Got a question? Email yours with pic attachments here (those with pics get answered first)
