At the beginning of the Maker's Mark distillery tour in Loretto, Kentucky, we spent a little time in the Heritage Center, built in the 1840s and home to a several-generations-back area distiller. Now, family photos (of the Maker's Mark Samuels family) adorn the home's walls, architectural drawings show the home's origins, and the bourbon flavored coffee lures you into a 1950s-inspired kitchen. Updated but true to the Maker's Mark early years...
...the kitchen was re-created here as the place where red wax dipping was tested and perfected by the Samuels family. While the whole Heritage Center home was rich in detail and history, the kitchen -- with its red and blue charm, vintage details, and family cookbooks on display -- stood out as a room alive in tastes and history. Enjoy this online photo tour, and definitely check out the entire distillery tour in person if you find yourself in Kentucky (it's free)!

I have that dishtowel (under the rolling pin). I love these colors.
My mom still uses the canister set. A 50's icon for sure.
Oh, I have been to the distrillery. fun!
Where did you find that wall clock??? I need one of those in RED! LOVE IT!
The retro quality and color scheme of this kitchen is similar to mine only I used aqua instead of blue.
oh my gosh i love that kitchen. it would so compliment my new fancipan cookware set.
Retro done well, right down to the Mix Master.
Love this! The colors work so well together!
LOOOOVE the combination of Cherry Red and Lt. Blue/Tiffany Blue. So much so, we used them for our wedding.
I've always loved that kitchen! Such a fun surprise to see it on Apartment Therapy today!
LOVE the clock, too! And also need one, it would complete my retro kitchen. Please tell us... where is it from???
Is this red/light blue thing a trend? I hope so, and that it's on its way out, because they do not "go." Eep!
God I love the internet. I went hunting for the red clock but haven't yet found it.
I did find google's beta reverse image lookup which is really cool. You enter an image and it scours the web to find other images like it.

I then found this great sight that has a ton of links to ebay midcentury clock auctions. There are some tasty treats indeed.
