Every once in a while I stumble upon a gem of a blog that really stands out from the pack, making it's subject matter both interesting and approachable in a way others fail to do. The subject of art is an especially tough one to tackle.
So many of the existing blogs out there are hard to follow unless you are really tuned into the current art scene and can feel a college lecture. The Jealous Curator reads in a way that is smart and approachable with the premise "Damn, I wish I had thought of that." You can search well organized site by categories such as "art or craft" or "urban street art" and she covers the range from highly established gallery artists to those making an impact at craft shows and on Etsy. The author has an educational background in visual art and design and works as a designer and creative director, experience that comes through in her well informed and curated posts.
