Making Colors From Nature

Making Colors From Nature

Looks like a line-up of delicious cocktails, right? Wrong. This is actually an awesome idea we spotted over at Squashed Tomatoes. Make colored potions using things you find in your backyard or on a walk.

Have the kids list colors they want to make and then start scavenging for items in those colors - berries, leaves, flower petals, etc. Use a mortar and pestle to crush the items and then add to water to get the beautiful colors of nature. Check out more photos and directions at Squashed Tomatoes.
