Old lampshades have wonderful bones. The sculptural steel frames are great for DIY craft and decorating projects — a simple coat of paint is sometimes all they need. The armature is also a great foundation for wrapping colored ribbon or even hanging decorations between the wires.

The first two images are called The Emporer's New Lamp and done by the design duo of Malin Palm and Åsa Ohlsson. The last two images are lampshade frames repurposed to be candle holders done by the Norwegian company Transplant.
