We've always loved pink but never really used it too much in our home, thinking it too girly, too hard to match, or just too sweet. Quite a few modern and contemporary designers have proved us wrong, making pink cool and even a little edgy.
- Pair it with white, wood, and/or metal. To tone down pink's frilly associations, pair it with classic modern elements like white walls, glass windows, steel frames, and minimal wood furnishings.
- Use a deep, saturated shade. While pearl pink might tend to feel a little granny-ish, deep hues like fuscia and magenta are anything but.
- Choose pink for a sexy, sculptural piece. Although a Victorian pink sofa's not exactly sleek, a pink Vernor Panton Amoeba Chair or a Ligne Roset sofa looks totally hot.
- Mix pink patterns. When you mix and match a few different fabrics, pink starts to feel less precious.

Accent colour, sure. Dominant color... hells no.
Love the Kaleido wallpaper. Just did a post on pink walls and pink paint, inspired by designs in the new Room For Children book. The best pinks, in my opinion, are those with a bit of lilac/blue tint. LOVE the first pic! Very cool...
Always loved charcoal with some pink accents
i love the floral carpt pictured with the corola sofa! does anyone know where i can find this or something similar??
Ditto on the wallpaper.
Nothing wrong with a pink room at all - I'd love to have one myself, as it is a color which always makes me feel happy.
i'm intrigued by the pink chair in the 5th picture. anyone know where i could find it, or at least see different views?
Love the chair in picture 1 -- is it a recognized item??
mmq, just click the link below the picture :)
I really like that last picture. Sort of strange because I usually am not big on pink and cream shades. But it's working here!
my friend and I recently opened a doggie boutique and when we were picking out paint colors, we were originally afraid of pink and leaned toward yellow. but the yellow ended up looking sickly, and the pink just called to us. I'm glad it did, because it turned out freaking adorable. everyone (ok, mostly the women) that walk in the store freak out and start squealing when they see it. we ended up pairing it with a metallic gray that really makes it pop. :)
