The Mandometer Clinic has developed a tech tool to help fast eaters (a group which we admit we belong to) slow down to slim up. The Mandometer was developed to help those afflicted with eating disorders, providing real time feedback about eating speed via measurements from the weight readings from plate. Through this feedback the user slowly learns the proper speed in which to consume food in a healthy manner.
The Mandometer has been shown to have helped users lower their BMI by 2% over 18 months, as small changes in habits can result in notable healthier changes. For overly speedy and stubborn eaters such as ourselves, we'd recommend adding a small shock feature. Because it's going to take more than a poor UI screen to slow us down when you put a tasty meal in front of us.

Huh? Maybe in people with eating disorders speed of eating matters, I don't know anything about the science of that.
But...I am overweight and I am also one of the slowest eaters I know. My best friend is teeeeennnny, and the food disappears from her plate almost instantaneously. I've had other skinny friends over the years with the same behavior. I doubt that speed has anything to do with it. How much you eat, how much you exercise and innate metabolism due to heredity control what you weigh. No meters necessary.
