Boys used to build forts. Men used to hang out in the garage or go ice fishing. We recently blogged "The Man Room." Now they just get handy and build themselves forts that look like something out of Dwell magazine. Check out this sweet little house:

"Adam, built this 135sq ft "manfort" as we call it, in the back 40 of our property. He used all recycled materials for the space; recycled wood, doors, windows, trim, sink and toilet..."

The floors came from reclaimed doug fir from the local recyclery in petaluma. Adam uses it as his studio/office. He built in a desk under his desk for the girls to use. We also use it as a guest house, and the teenage girls love it as their hangout.

You wont find kegs or cigars out there, but you will find exacto blades, lama li paper, ghetto blaster and tools. There is a deck that faces west over the petaluma hills. It has a small bathroom and has a futon sofa bed.

It's a super small, functional space for the whole family!"

Got a manfort of your own? Let us know right here!

(Thanks, Kate & Adam!)
