There's no arguing that New York real estate is pricey, but this 8,000 square foot triplex penthouse in Midtown is currently listed at a whopping $100 million. Sure, it's got stunning views, but the fixtures are so firmly ensconced in the mid 90s that they'll be hard-pressed to find someone to cough up 9 figures.
In other news, public art gets an Olympic boost in London's East End, and the MoMA opens an exhibit on 20th century design for children. See the headlines after the jump.

This looks like Trump's place - I'm sorry, it was also tacky back in the 90s.
Bwaahahaha Duane Hill, I was going to say the same thing. I also wonder just how much crap does one family have to have before they feel it's "enough" to satisfy their need to entertain themselves and impress others.
This place is seriously hideous. The listing photographs seem to have been taken in 1991. I saw a tour of Trump's place, and believe it or not, it is even more awful than this - pink marble and faux gold everywhere. G-R-O-S-S.
The triplex wouldn't have been considered attractive even in the nineties. It looks like it was decorated with hotel furniture. How can something that expensive look that cheap?
At least the views are nice!
That is a horror show. You would have to rip out everything and start from scratch. Disgusting display of excess. Reminds of Kimora Lee Simmons' house when she was married to Russell. 14kt gold toilets. Get outta here with that.
I agree with Aninhas, the view is the saving grace of the place.
OMG at the pillars in the kitchen "holding up" the island and counter!
Gaudy, ugly , cold.
$100M for an APARTMENT, guys. Tacky, not tacky; I know it's NY, but if you have that sort of cash flow, you're head should be examined and your finances audited.
Heck of a view, though.
i see this and think "thats gunna get wrecked when that Cloverfield monster comes through".
Decorations aside, what you can't tell is that this building is in the middle of two major construction zones that start jackhammering at 6am, 7 days a week and blow construction debris for blocks (yes, it's illegal but the fines cost them less than spending extra time on the construction). Both are major projects that will take "2-4" years to finish (so more like 5-10?). I lived in the area for five months (on a very high floor) and couldn't take it anymore. You couldn't pay me $100 million to live there.
well, the actual stove is kind of nice.
