Is it just me, or do these seem like a child/pet/me- on-a-bad-day safety hazard?
Those Honeywell's are unattractive.
Harley: I think the "soft PVC blades" would bend easily. I know a lot of smaller fans can be easily stopped by hand (i.e. even unintentionally). Maybe this is how this one is?

They are indeed a hazard - its not the blades going round that will cause you injury - its getting something would round them and getting pulled in - this happened to a friend of mines hair and it had to be cut to get them loose - not good...
