Name: Marina Valentina (4 months)
Location: Lake Merritt —Oakland, California

As soon as we found out we were expecting a baby I picked up some great animal paintings from an artist at a local monthly street festival that I knew would be perfect for a boy or girl's room. From there, we knew we wanted a gender neutral, animal and multicultural theme and it still had to function as a guest room/daddy's closet since we live in a pretty small two bedroom apartment. I also wanted to include small nods to her mixed cultural background and places that we've visited. So far, it's been a room that all three of us enjoy spending time in!
