If you're looking for that hard-to-find item for your home, the first of three yearly Brimfield Antique shows in Brimfield Massachusetts starts tomorrow and lasts through Sunday. We've written about this amazing antiques market before (check our post from last year for more details, tips and photos) and how you can find anything there....

This years May dates are 5/12 - 5/17 and the weather (so far) looks beautiful. The May show is one of the best because everything that dealers have been stockpiling all winter will be out. If you can manage it, go on a weekday because many sellers pack up and leave on the weekend. Can anyone share a favorite score they've gotten at Brimfield in a past year?

It was the ideal situation. About two years ago, on the last day of the show, it was raining. Everyone was packing up to go and I spotted a great mantel marked $75. I got it for $20!! The seller was so happy not to have to pack it up. I heart Brimfield!
The first market is the best local antiques show of the year! Even if one is only there for photography...
I love the hunt. For the midwesterner ( Chicago, Indy, Cleveland, Columbus, Louisville.....and of course Cincinnati) there are shows on a smaller scale all throughout the summer...(and a better bargain) like the Burlington Antique Show just south of Cincinnati. Some dealers from Brimfield will be passing thru to buy and/or set up on Sunday May 17, and you can get a phenomenal deal....I bought 6 chrome bertoia chairs with the original crimson covers - all for $250. You can check out their schedule and pics at www.burlingtonantiqueshow.com
I just did a post on Brimfield as well on my blog at www.antiquetherapy.com. I set up at the Sept show last fall and wanted to do this May, but I am having my first baby in a week so it just wasn't in the cards, but hoping to maybe do this coming Sept show. Its always so much fun and you never know what you are going to find!!

i am an exhibitor at brimfield for over 27 years now....i find that it is addictive and i cannot miss a show...i sell on brimfield acres north and mays fields...this year was an endurance test...the weather was rainy but it did not dampen the joy and spirit of the crowds and crowds of people buying and selling.....see you in july with my mounds and mounds of vintage clothing....
