Although the AT reader jury was hung on the Wary Meyers wedding portraits, we have to show off the customized pet portraits. We love 'em. They're pretty, a little crazy, but totally sweet. In other words, they perfectly represent our pets...

Just like the wedding portraits, the pet paintings are also typically painted in acrylics on 20" x 24" canvas but the size is negotiable. Yet unlike the wedding portraits, Wary Meyers requests photos of your pets and tidbits about their personality. A sample submission could read:
"Bear sounds like Chewbacca and has a cocked right ear and loves his little hedgehog..."

The price for this special memento starts at $1,200 with a 50% deposit due upon order. Once the painting is complete, Wary Meyers will send a draft image via email and request feedback or changes. After customer approval, the remainder payment is due and the pet portrait will be shipped out for about $35.

Wow, these are much more fun and interesting than the wedding portraits! I love that the pet's personality is incorporated into the image in such whimsical ways. Very cute!
LOVE!
I would do this for my three, but I can't justify the cost right now.
At least the pets have normal breasts. LOL.
I like them. They should stick to the animal world.
Love them!
These are a little too cutesy for me, and WOAH expensive! I just had a custom work made of our dog by an awesome artist on Etsy, Gemini Studio.

I have bought several pieces from him, he is super talented. He layers strips of antique paper and newsprint on his canvases to give them a really neat textured quality. His pieces are around $65, and he charges a little more for a custom design. I LOVE the work he just made for me.
Also, he lives in Chicago and has some neat Chicago-related artwork and Obama paraphernalia as well :)
