Martha Stewart Enters the Meal Kit Business

Meal kits. Beyoncé's done it. So has Mark Bittman (and then he left). Amazon, the New York Times, and a bunch more, too. So, it's not really a surprise to see that Martha Stewart is joining the fray.

Martha is licensing her name to current subscription service Marley Spoon, where recipes from the domestic mogul's extensive catalog will serve as cooking inspiration with "easy, weeknight cooking in mind."

While it may seem like the fast-growing industry is already saturated, less than half of the $1.5 billion spent on meal kits last year came from the US—and it's expected to grow to as much as $6 billion in the next four years, according to research group Technomic.
