Designer Martin Ballendat designed the L@p chair to be used in hotels and other public spaces where traveling laptop users could park themselves to relax in a lobby, enjoy some hopefully free wi-fi and check on their bulging email inbox in the comforts of a sculptural seat. We surely wouldn't mind one or two for our own home (especially an outdoor patio version). From above, the chair looks like a huge comma hugging a period, and from the side profile, the chair seems to be offering it's arm in consolation to a friend on the side; the arm offers a small, but perfectly arranged spot to place a laptop to work from...
Martin Ballendat describes the L@p Chair
as such: “This sculptural chair is characterised by an organic upholstered backrest offering a comfortable area to lean on and a horizontal surface for the use of laptops. Matching tables and par vents supplements these seats creating a completely new and futuristic office world with regeneration character."
